Apple Crisp II

Apple Crisp II

Ingredients

9 servings
  • apple — 5 cup (thinly sliced)
  • water — 0.33 cup
  • lemon juice (to taste)
  • Ground cinnamon (to taste (for filling))
  • brown sugar — 0.75 cup
  • rolled oats — 0.75 cup
  • all-purpose flour — 0.50 cup
  • butter — 0.50 cup (1/4 lb, softened)
  • Ground cinnamon — 1 tsp
  • Salt (to taste)
  • ground nutmeg (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Butter a baking pan.
  2. Thinly slice the apples and place them in the buttered pan. Sprinkle with lemon juice for flavor and to prevent them from turning brown.
  3. Add 1/3 cup of water and cinnamon to taste over the apples.
  4. To make the topping, combine the butter, brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl. Crumble the ingredients together with your fingers until the mixture is uniform.
  5. Cover the apples evenly with the topping.
  6. Bake for 30–45 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the topping is golden and crisped.
  7. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
