Spice Oatmeal with Banana and Almonds

Spice Oatmeal with Banana and Almonds

Ingredients

2 servings
  • almonds — 0.33 cup (sliced, soaked)
  • filtered water — 4 cup
  • rolled oats — 1 cup
  • Raisins — 2 tbsp
  • ground cardamom — 0.25 tsp
  • ground allspice — 0.25 tsp (powder)
  • ginger powder — 0.25 tsp
  • banana — 1 piece (peeled, sliced)
  • whole milk — 0.33 cup (can be replaced with cream)
  • maple syrup — 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Soak the almonds in 1 cup of filtered water overnight. Drain, remove the skins, and slice them the next day.
  2. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Slowly stir in the oats, then add the raisins and spices.
  3. Lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the oats are smooth and creamy, about 7–9 minutes. Add banana and sliced almonds.
  4. Spoon into bowls and serve with milk or cream and a drizzle of maple syrup.
