Ingredients

4 servings
  • Ground beef — 1 lb (80/20)
  • soy sauce — 2 tbsp (tamari if available)
  • sesame oil — 1 tbsp
  • garlic — 3 clove (minced)
  • ginger — 1 tsp (minced)
  • green onions — 2 bunches
  • Cooked rice — 2 cup

Instructions

  1. Cook rice.
  2. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up, until browned and no longer pink.
  3. Drain excess fat if needed, then add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions. Season with salt and pepper and simmer briefly to blend the flavors.
  5. Spoon a generous amount of cooked rice into your bowl, then top it with the seasoned ground beef mixture.
  6. Optional: Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and any other toppings you prefer, like kimchi or a fried egg.
